On August 9, UIC’s Research and Development Finance Training Centre became one of the very first projects at the Hengqin Financial Industry Service Base (first phase) in the Shizimen Central Business District.
The centre will be operated by UIC’s Division of Business & Management.
Vice President Prof. Zee Sze Yong hoped that the base would bring more cooperation between financial services and the College. He also welcomed businesses in Hengqin to offer internship opportunities for UIC students in future.
The first-phase participants include the Bank of China, Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China and China Mobile. It will begin to provide financial services, high-calibre personnel exchanges and training and other services at the end of the year.
Ms. Liu Jia, Party Secretary of Hengqin New Area and a Member of the Zhuhai Municipal Committee, Mr. Nelson Chan, Managing Director for Financial Planning and Development at UIC, and other senior city officials and financial executives were presented at the event.
