UIC plans to enroll 1,250 new students from 26 provinces and municipalities this year. For Guangdong Province the College is exploring the possibility of introducing an independent enrollment scheme, pending which admission requirements will remain unchanged. The College will continue to recruit students from Batch 2A and above in Guangdong and from Batch 1 from the other 25 provinces and municipalities.
In a recent exchange with Guangdong Education officials, UIC was encouraged to explore new admission models and further the College’s role as an experimental field in the reform of higher education in China. Making reference to the experience of Hong Kong and Macau universities in independent enrolment of mainland students, the College could devise an admission model disregarding the “concept of Batch 1 and 2,” in line with UIC's own educational vision and mission. The College is taking this idea on board and hopes to be able to draw up a proposal for independent enrolment in Guangdong in the near future.
The Admission Office will begin its annual promotional tours visiting various cities and provinces such as Henan, Yunnan and Guizhou in March.
