The 3rd internship assessment and sharing session was held by Career Development Association and Four Point Education and Development Office on October 13. 28 students were invited to share their internship experiences in worldwide famous corporations.
Overseas internship broadens horizon
Attended students had their internship last summer in many well-known enterprises like CCTV, Tencent, Cargill, Standard Chartered Bank, Watsons, Hong Kong NOW TV, etc. Also many UIC students went abroad to experience oversea internship. They took part in overseas internship projects like“MAP program of HKBU (Hong Kong Baptist University)”, and gained the chance to have internship mainly in Australia and America.
Zhu Wenbo, a year 3 student of Environmental Science program, introduced his experience of working as a cashier in Starbucks Coffee in USA by means of a wonderful talk show. His working experience in Starbucks as well as traveling in US made him feel great culture shock.
Yang Ziyan, a year 4 student of Cinema and Television program, had her internship in Etcom Australia, which gave her a rare opportunity to communicate directly with from various cultural backgrounds. She considered it a precious experience for adopting to future workplace.
Luo Peiyu, a year 2 student of Finance, took her two-month internship in BRICKS AND MORTAR, a fund firm in Hong Kong. As an analyst assistant, her work contains data collection, materials correction, chart making, on the spot investigation and other tasks in different areas. She considered her internship very fruitful, not only helped her get familiar with the operation of society and workplace in advance, but also let her find own working style and self-worth.

Domestic internship accumulates experience
Wang Quan, a year 4 student of Culture Industry Management, had her internship as a in Tencent Co. Ltd as a member of business analysis group in strategic development department. Through the internship she learned a lot that can never be taught by academic books, and felt the special corporation culture of Tencent. “My work performance was highly spoken by my manager, and I got the full-time working opportunity in Tencent after graduation”, said Wang excitedly.
Liu Yuteng, a year 3 student of Management of Human Resource, worked in a branch workroom of Jinshan Group. As an intern of HR department, he had lots thought about hunting jobs. He suggested students who want to work right after graduation prepare early and well when still at school.

The best three presenters came out
The 28 presenters were divided into oversea group and domestic group. The best three presenters were respectively selected and rewarded by Zhang Wei from Four Point Education and Development Office, Giff and other teacher judges.
Finally, Liu Yuteng, Wang Quan and Yang Yixin won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd reward among interns domestically. Luo Peiyu, Deng Ying, Liang Zhilin and Hu Jingya were the best three of oversea interns.
