Mr. Norwell Coquillard, Chairman and President of SIFE China, visited UIC and had lunch with 15 plus UIC students, and later had a small scale meeting with more UIC SIFE members at Oasis. Mr. Giff Searls, Project Manager of ACDO hosted the lunch meeting.
After a round of self-introduction, Mr. Coquillard asked the current projects of UIC SIFE and their operation. A few UIC students introduced the uniqueness of UIC. Mr. Coquillard said the Whole Person Education of UIC is very good for the education of team players, especially the Emotional Intelligence programme, which improves communication and self-management skills.
At the group meeting, Mr. Coquillard introduced the development of SIFE teams in China. According to him, there are 160 teams in China, and they have received many new team applications. Mr. Coquillard said SIFE doesn't want to develop too fast, for the benefit of quality insurance.
Mr. Coquillard also offered valuable advice for raising funds. Sponsoring SIFE projects can help realize the Sponsor's wish to contribute to the community, enhance their recognition and reputation, connect them with other important persons of the industry and offer them potential employees, because SIFE team members are normally well trained for modern corporations.
Mr. Coquillard revealed that the SIFE China is applying to host the SIFE International Competition 2014 in China, and encouraged UIC SIFE team to keep on their passion and hard work for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
