On March 11th, Dr. Susan Gan-Phillips and Dr. Kristine T. Utterback from the Fulbright Program in Hong Kong gave a lecture on Collaborative Learning to the faculty in UIC. More than 100 teachers attended the lecture and participated in the discussion. This lecture is one of the training and sharing sessions provided for the faculty to improve teaching quality and learning outcome of students.

Collaborative learning is an educational approach to teaching and learning that involves groups of learners working together. It focuses on proactive learning by the students, teaching efficiency, and student communication.

Some teachers shared their own experience and discussed the difficulties and obstacles they were facing in classes. Some students from TELS major participated in the lecture. They said, "We will become teachers in the future. We want to learn some advanced ideas and methods on education."

The scholars are teaching at City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
