On Jan. 18th, 2007, a group of students and teachers from Lok Sin Tong Wong Chung Ming Secondary School visited UIC. They came in the morning and toured around the campus. They were fascinated by the beautiful environment around the campus and the non-smoking regulations. They appreciated this non-smoking restriction at UIC and stated that their school should consider following such a restriction and thus setting a good example for the students. Then some of the students expressed their wish to study at UIC later.

They were invited to an introduction to UIC in one of the classrooms. Dr. Ricky Hou, the Deputy Registrar, received them and made a presentation for them. He introduced the educational features and also the student recruitment criteria at UIC, which raised the interest of the Hong Kong students a lot. They asked a lot of questions, such as about the certificate, degree, programs and opportunities to study abroad. Dr. Hou answered the questions carefully and in detail. Most of the visitors were satisfied with this visit to UIC.
